CURRICULUM

The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi.

Besides the main language English, Bengali & Hindi are offered as second and third language. The curriculum for the Pre-Primary classes is mainly activity based, focused on developing various skills of the child. Language development is through story-telling and action songs. The primary section includes subjects English Language & Literature, Mathematics, Environmental Science (Classes 1 & 2), Science (Classes 3 to 5), Second Language, Social Studies (Classes 3 to 5), Computer, Third Language (Class 5), General Knowledge, Moral Science, and Drawing & SUPW. All these lessons provide a well-balanced curriculum which helps the child develop his/her ability for critical thinking, creativity, and good communication and interpersonal skills. Right from Pre-Primary to Higher Secondary sections the school follows the curriculum/syllabi prescribed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. The Secondary section includes subjects English Language & Literature, Mathematics, Second Language, History & Civics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer, Third Language (Classes 6 to 8), Elective subjects (Economic Application/Computer Applications for Classes 9 to 10), General Knowledge, Moral Science, Drawing & SUPW. Students regularly engage in meaningful project work aimed at building essential analytical skills and nurturing their natural curiosity and inquisitiveness.

BEYOND CURRICULUM

Emphasis is laid on co-curricular activities like Sports, Music, Dance, Dramatics, Quiz, Elocution, Debate, Creative Writing, Educational Film Shows, SUPW, Yoga and Physical Education. Students are also taken on field trips, Youth camps and visits to local places of interest.
Inter-house competitions among the four houses Subhash Chandra Bose (Blue), Bal Gangadhar Tilak (Green), Jawaharlal Nehru (Red) and Rabindranath Tagore (Yellow), are a regular feature. The students get a platform to showcase their talents at numerous school events such as the Annual Concert, Sports’ Day, Independence Day, Rabindra Jayanti, Teachers’ Day, Children’s Day and Plantation Day; and are also encourage participating in various inter-school events.
The mantle of leadership and responsibilities is handed over to democratically elected students’ representatives at the perfects’ Investiture Ceremony.
